Prof. Vassili Toropov joined Queen Mary University of London in January 2014.
He is Chair of Division of Aerospace Engineering and Fluid Mechanics.
His researches focus on
- Techniques for large-scale multidisciplinary, multiobjective, stochastic design optimization.
- Techniques for composite optimisation for aeronautical structures.
- Applications to various engineering problems where disciplines could be computational structural mechanics, CFD, etc., in aeronautical, turbomachinery, space, automotive, mechanical, materials, offshore and structural engineering.
The collaboration he leads is with Altair Engineering, Rolls-Royce, DLR (German Aerospace Agency), Imperial College, and Hiroshima University.
